POSITION TITLE: CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing service support to both external and internal customers to book their fruit orders. In order to effectively perform this task, the candidate is required to work closely with Product Managers (Sales) on market conditions and with Planning (Allocation), Transportation, Ports, and DC’s on the movement of fruit and maintaining lowest fruit age (FIFO) at all times. When ships arrive at US ports, Customer Service Representatives will work with the Port Dispatch Teams to assign and dispatch the fruit in a manner that meets customers’ needs efficiently and effectively.

This is an exempt position. The primary duty of this role is office/non-manual work directly related to management or general business operations of the employer or the employer’s customers. This role includes discretion and independent judgement in matters of significance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Input orders through various means: MCS, EDI, Itrade, Food Link, Nova, email, fax, Partners online: Customer, Ship To, Customer Po #, SKU, Quantity, Pick-Up Date, Delivery Date, Freight Arrangement (collect vs prepaid)
  • Balancing the orders versus the Sales Plan by respective port (ship from facilities) and customer; reviewing assignment of fruit and fruit age. If any discrepancies needs to inform Planning team
  • Maintaining customer’s external systems to make sure all information flows correctly (Itrade, Food link, Nova, Partners Online)
  • Work closely with ports to coordinate Ship Day dispatch (priorities)
  • Work closely with Quality department to coordinate assignments of priority containers for top customers, restrictions for country of origin, etc
  • Provide support to their ports and customers during Hurricane season, working Holidays and after hours when ships are delayed
  • Work closely with Inland Department to secure carriers
  • Monitor the orders booking system (MCS) for any Add-Ons or Cancellations for approval or denial
  • Handle reassignment of rejected loads to new customers in coordination with Quality and Sales
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics planning Customer Service related role
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Effective team player and relationship builder with proven ability to create a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)
  • Demonstrated problem – solving skills
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Able to travel to the Ports when needed
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
