HR Business Partner for the Electrification Global Markets (ELGM) US Commercial organization supporting multiple US Sales & Marketing organizations. Specifically, this role will provide HR guidance & expertise in the areas of HR business support, employee relations, talent acquisition, diversity, equity, & inclusion, employee/manager coaching, talent management, and engagement for multiple Commercial teams. The role is a mix of operational and strategic business support with a goal of establishing credibility as a strategic partner, playing a consultative role to employees, managers, and leaders. Location Preferred: Cary, NC, Memphis, TN, Atlanta, GA, and open to Remote US

VP, HR Business Partner

Your responsibilities
  • Client Group: This position directly supports Sales and Marketing leaders in the US & their teams.
  • HR Business Partner: Serve as the first point of contact for employees & managers and provide leadership, coaching and support for individual employee needs & HR processes.
  • HR Consultation: Providing expertise and guidance in all areas of organization support, including: Strategic HR partnership with the Business Leaders and his/her direct reports to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives.
  • HR Systems: This role includes hands-on HR systems transactions, audit & reporting, ultimately with a focus on strategically leveraging data to drive insights & decisions. Note: ABB US is currently implementing Workday – experience in Workday is a plus!
  • HR Project Management: Lead and manage HR projects & initiatives; provide outstanding customer service to client groups including HR. Lead HR processes including but not limited to: annual Performance Development Appraisal (PDA), People Review Session (PRS), annual salary review (ASR), etc.
  • Feedback & Coaching: Provide timely, effective, and direct feedback & coaching to employees and managers, assisting in the development of world class, contemporary leadership skills
  • DEI & Engagement: Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive & diverse work environment; act as an employee advocate; help drive various business initiatives
  • Talent Partnership: partner with leaders, managers and talent partners on workforce planning, hiring, and headcount management. Specific focus on diversity, consistent with ABB’s commitments to expand our diversity footprint.
  • Employee Relations: Facilitate performance management process; when necessary conduct investigations, conflict resolution, employee communications and management coaching within client group
Your background
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, Business or related field from an accredited university or college; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years (or MA + 2 years) of progressive HR business partnership experience, with at least 1 year of experience supporting a customer-facing organization (sales, service, customer support).
  • Solid knowledge of US employment law
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and ability to gather and analyze information objectively and skillfully
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong judgment, decision making and influencing skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill set in Microsoft office applications.
  • MA/MBA degree in Business/HR or SPHR preferred
  • Graduate from a rotational HR development program
  • Commercial HR experience: knowledge of the people implications of a commercial organization including: go-to-market strategies, territory allocation, sales performance measurement & evaluation, and sales incentive plan (SIP) design and performance.
  • Proven experience supporting an organization through transformation, including comfort with ambiguity and techniques to support change management
  • Ability or potential to understand the business and think strategically about people, organizational & cultural needs
  • Willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and engage at all levels including HR systems and data analytics
  • Proven ability to balance business partnership with employee advocacy
  • Experience providing coaching and feedback to leaders and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
