The Position:

Report to the Project Quality Manager and the Package Manager, ensuring effective implementation of quality assurance for the entire package in the different locations where the ACP and ECP will be manufactured. Overall, implement VW1 QMS and client requirements into the specific project package management and documentation. This will include assisting with all aspects of Quality Management, from implementing the system, leading and coordinating different site’s quality resources, preparing/reviewing technical specifications, auditing suppliers, coordinating inspections, inspecting products and works, attending FAT’s where necessary, and reporting on project performance.

The ACP-ECP quality manager will lead the package’s quality organization deployed in the main supplier’s sites and will liaise with the quality specialists assigned to the cables packages in order to ensure compliance with quality specifications.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and for the Project Execution Plan in relation to the package quality matters.
• Ensuring the quality of deliverables, materials/product, and services across all phases of the package (i.e audit (qualifying a supplier)), design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and handover), including continuous assessment to the QA/QC as a part of the QMS.
• Lead and coordinate quality site Inspectors in the different locations where the cables and components will be manufactured, attending to supplier project weekly and monthly meetings.
• Coordination of inspections in different locations.
• Provide quality control to our supplies and contractors, including reviewing technical specifications and nonconformities
• Responsible to liaise with the package verification body on the package (if applicable), attending all the inspections, and answering any Technical Query related to quality.
• Embed a consistent approach and quality level of performance and practice in cable suppliers.
• Ensure ACP-ECP final dossiers fulfill EPC and O&M requirements and are consistently presented.
• Ensure fundamental project reference documents are in place, monitored, updated, and communicated on a regular basis e.g. Project Quality Plan.
• Update, create or facilitate the creation of standard quality specifications to be issued to suppliers to ensure customer, regulatory or other requirements are being met.
• Inspecting and auditing internal and external parties as required
• Working closely with Document Control and the supplier to establish, maintain and improve document/record keeping.
• Ensure that the quality documentation and quality reports are produced, verified, or reviewed by competent personnel
• Ensure a mechanism is in place to capture defective works and monthly reports are produced
• Supervising technical staff for inspection and tests.
• Assist with preparation of regular management systems reports.
• Reviewing and reporting on project performance internally and externally
• Maintain and encourage a high standard of Health & Safety.

Skills and Requirements:

• Essential:

• Experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control for onshore/offshore wind projects, preferably specific to Cable supply and installation
• Engineering degree qualified or equivalent technical qualifications/experience.
• 3-5 years of experience managing quality of cables supply and installation
• Experience in managing international and remote teams
• Flexibility to travel frequently both locally and overseas
• Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the job.
• Flexibility to work offshore if required.

• Preferred:

• Location: Boston, MA – though open to discussing different options
• Technical experience.in electrical and mechanical works
• Quality Auditing certification required.
• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
• Provision of quality management support and coaching.
• Proven experience in managing teams.
• Experience as a proactive team member.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence at various levels of an organization.
• Proven significant experience in IT applications (word, excel, document management systems).
• Proven significant experience of working with multi-disciplinary suppliers (Cable providers, electrical plant, cable, etc.).
• Proven experience in implementing or working to an inspection regime for the production of goods/equipment.
