Job Description:
As a Senior Scrum Master, you will be a key member of the Office of the CIO PMO team, driving continual improvement for Digital Technology. Project types include system design, network refreshes, facility build-outs, manufacturing environments, acquisitions, and cyber-security initiatives, in both unclassified and classified settings. In Digital Technology, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on the entire product development lifecycle in pursuit of our company’s mission to make the world a safer place.

You will be a servant leader that helps a cross section of the Digital Technology teams deliver results against some of their most complex and strategic business and technology initiatives. Success requires the ability to adapt and perform as a practitioner and coach, supporting various Agile roles including Architects and Product Owners. Your role will require you to apply Agile values and principles for an organization on its journey to transform to Agile delivery methodologies using a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Key Duties

• Perform as a Scrum Master for multiple scrum teams
• Lead/Participate in quarterly Program Increment planning sessions
• Facilitate road mapping, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and demos
• Assist the product owner with backlog refinement
• Ensure cross-team coordination
• Participate/facilitate scrum of scrums
• Provide relevant metrics to gauge team progress with a continual focus on improvement
• Work with other Scrum Masters to define, reinforce, and maintain a consistent practice across the organization
• Work with Release Train Engineer(s) and the other Scrum Masters to coordinate PI Planning
• Prepare and deliver effective communications (both oral and written) regarding progress and status
• Effectively and efficiently track, mitigate, and resolve issues, risks, and blockers

Required Skills:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
• Advanced experience using Jira and Confluence
• Agile practitioner mindset and proficiency in Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and iterative development practices
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and IT service management
• Demonstrated track record managing large and complex projects
• Ability to help teams write user stories/features and identify dependencies
• Ability to establish immediate credibility with business stakeholders, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work with teams where they are in terms of Agile maturity and coach them accordingly
• U.S. Citizenship required

Desired Skills:

• Experience as a Scrum Master within SAFe
• Experience as a Scrum Coach across teams
• SAFe certifications
• PMP certification
• ITIL certification or experience supporting operational arm of IT service delivery
• Experience in classified or defense environments

Required Education (including Major):

• Typically, a Bachelors degree and 8+ years relevant experience or 16 years in lieu of Degree
• Certified Scrum Master – CSM, SSM certification or equivalent
