As part of Carrier’s Digital transformation, we are looking for a dynamic individual to serve as the Lead Architect for the Residential HVAC business. The primary function of this position is to provide architectural guidance, technological recommendations, platform transition strategies as well as Master Data Management centralization that support the development and implementation of Digital initiatives.

The successful candidate must have the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate the ability to influence others, and effectively leverage technical aptitude to translate complex business requirements to digital development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic thinking, solutions, and roadmaps while driving architectural recommendations

Ensure architectural adherence through solution blueprint and design reviews.

Identify and refine the requirements from stakeholders, develop views of the architecture that show how the concerns and requirements are going to be addressed, and present the trade-offs that are going to be made in reconciling the potentially conflicting concerns of different stakeholders

Develop an architectural framework to describe the transformation from baseline architecture to a target state of the enterprise in terms of a set of building blocks and reusable microservices which can be implemented in an Agile environment.

Create and maintain Data Models, ER diagrams, Data Dictionaries, and Data mapping documents.

Understand the organization’s current server architecture, standards, future technology plans thoroughly, and recommend emerging trends for both hardware and software infrastructure.

Analyze and provide reviews on the magnitude of shortcomings and shortages in information systems, approaches to mitigate risks, resolve security alerts, and preempt possible adverse outcomes of identified weaknesses.

Gather business and functional requirements from external/internal customers, and translate requirements into technical specifications and architectures that are robust, scalable, and supportable

Perform architecture feasibility analysis and make recommendations to senior management regarding product architecture options

Required Experience:

Ability to put the customer first, creating products and services that delight the customer

Hands-on and highly creative in using multiple technologies, languages, architecture and design patterns, and innovative solution models, preferably for highly distributed data processing applications.

Gather requirements, contribute to the overall architecture of the product by producing architecture artifacts, and take individual ownership of large components of the system.

Provide technical leadership to the software development team, review architecture, design, and code artifacts, and help execute a design to completion within a project schedule, perform acceptance testing if required, coordinate with a QA team, deploys systems, and perform system maintenance.

Communicate clearly with partners, peers, and multiple functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and domain experts.

Ability to architect and design technical solutions with multiple integration technologies

Strong experience with databases such as , MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, Redis, Cassandra, and/or Mongo.

Knowledge of scripting languages such as , JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, , PHP, Groovy, Bash.

Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Agile, Jira, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc.

Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users after understanding their needs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional internal teams and external customers.

Demonstrated experience translating business requirements to technical development teams and managing digital execution projects from inception through production deployment.

Education / Qualifications:

Completion of BS/BA degree or higher required

Additional Skills:

7+ years of System Architecture experience

Strong written and verbal skills

Thoroughly understand and have experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Conversant with IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
